The 1229 controllers are designed for large industrial permanent magnet motor applications, such as floor care machines, utility tugs/pushers, burden carriers small material handling vehicles and AGVs. Due to its fast and accurate feedback on acceleration signals, many industrial vehicles have recently started using 1229 as the EPS (Electric Power Steering) controller for ensuring vehicle's safety in fast and flexible movement.

The Curtis Model 1229-3101 is a sealed, heavy-duty permanent magnet motor speed controller intended for demanding traction applications in hostile environments. It utilizes an advanced, powerful dual-microprocessor, logic architecture for maximum functional safety and accurate speed control.

The 1229-3101 controller is fully programmable, via the CURTIS Model 1313-4331 Handheld Programmer or 1314 PC Programming Station. The programmable parameters allow a high level of customization designed to fit the needs of multiple applications. In addition to basic controller setup, the 1229 provides a high level of flexibility through I/O mapping and logic functions.
